MSHSAA Board Meeting Summary: Jan. 15, 2025

COLUMBIA – The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) held its regularly scheduled board meeting on Jan. 15 at the MSHSAA office, covering a range of important topics.

During the meeting, the Board approved Meador Park as the host site for the 2025 Spring Softball Championships. With planned field renovations underway at Killian Sports Complex during the spring season, Meador Park offers an excellent alternative to ensure the continued success of our championships. The championships will still be held May 26-27.

“While Killian Sports Complex undergoes important upgrades, Meador Park provides an opportunity for our student-athletes to compete at a venue with a rich tradition with our association, “MSHSAA Executive Director Dr. Jennifer Rukstad said. “We’re grateful for the support of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and the Springfield community in helping us create a memorable championship experience for everyone involved. We look forward to seeing teams, families and fans come together to celebrate the best of high school softball this spring.”

This will be the first time the MSHSAA Softball Championships will be held at Meador Park, but the association has a long-standing history of hosting baseball championships there, most recently from 2007-12.

The Board also approved the topics for the upcoming Area Meetings. The MSHSAA staff will travel to all eight board districts to discuss these topics with the member schools in the next few weeks. You can see the list of topics here and the dates for the Area Meetings here.

Additionally, the Board looked at recommendations from the Cross Country, Football, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball and Student Advisory Committees. Specific information on those Board actions will be available here in the future. The board is scheduled to meet again in February.
